PRAYER

Dear God,

Whether I find myself in isolation or on the front lines battling disease and infection, quarantined or in service to those compromised and in need, sick, anxious about finances, or overwhelmed, I need you, Lord. I ask you to fill me with uncontainable joy and the perfect peace that comes from putting my trust in you. Let your fountain of hope overflow through the presence of the Holy Spirit, so I know your faithfulness to my very core and, as importantly, can radiate this confident hope to others who so desperately need you now. Fill me so that I might fill others.

In the name of Jesus,

We hear the phrase, “faith over fear” a lot these days. The root of faith is trust. How do you find yourself trusting in Jesus? Are there places in your life you aren’t trusting him? Look at the descriptors in the Scripture above and describe how you have seen them in your life, either recently or in the past (inspiration and fountain of hope, overflowing and uncontainable joy, perfect peace, continually surround your life, super-abundance, radiate with hope). How could you explain that to someone who needs to fight off fear right now?

CALL TO ACTION

With the current health crisis spanning our globe, the uncertainty of our daily lives and the struggles we’re facing can make it challenging for us to let go of control and trust God with what’s next. Thankfully, as followers of Christ, we know God is walking with us through this crisis and he loves us more than we could ever understand. All he asks is that we lean into him rather than walking away from him when things get tough. Today, watch the message, “Faith Over Fear” to be reminded of God’s omnipotence, strength, and love.
