About Safe Families Oklahoma: When a crisis strikes, many rely on relatives and our church family for support, but for some parents, there isn't a safety net. Often, problems such as illness, domestic abuse or unemployment can be debilitating, making it difficult for parents to care for their children. Safe Families Oklahoma is part of a nationwide effort designed to support at-risk children and parents in need, giving them a place to turn to. Volunteers from the church surround these families with compassion and support. Some provide a safe place for their children to stay, for a limited time, while they get back on their feet. Other volunteers help by providing a meal, rides, or friendship.
